Mera Dil Kya Chahta Hai

Effort.........

Hey Dear All....
Namskar....

Here is one small piece of story I would like to share with everyone......

Ever heard the story of the giant ship engine that failed? The ship's owners tried one expert after another, but none of them could figure but how to fix the engine.

Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a youngster. He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.

Two of the ship's owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer.

He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life.

He carefully put his hammer away. The engine was fixed! A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars.

"What?!" the owners exclaimed. " He hardly did anything!"

So they wrote the old man a note saying, "Please send us an itemized bill."

The old man sent a bill that read:

Tapping with a hammer .. $ 2.00

Knowing where to ......... $ 9998.00

Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort in your life makes all the difference.

Chaha tha maine tujhe bahut... pata nahi sayad nahi...
Jhuth bolta hoon apne aap se...

Maine tujhe nahi chaha tha....
Agar haan.... to

Phir aoonga tujhe paane... Tujhe Gale lagane..

Pata nahi kab... par aoonga....... tere sang jeene aoonga.............

Kyonki roj sonchta hoon main - Main yahan kyon aa gaya, tujhe choer ke......

Let me celebrate this Independence day with those dead people of India who died of hunger in last 60yrs, and with those people off-course whom don't have food to eat.... & it's all happening without improvement just to remind............. "We are the People of India"

Let me celebrate this Independence day with those 99% people who never contribute anything to take our country ahead but never fail to make all big noises.

Let me celebrate this Independence day with those people who take bribes & always blame Pakistan for each & everything wrong happening within India.

Let me celebrate this Independence day with all those people who brakes the traffic signal, overtakes carelessly, enter in other lanes & makes our daily life miserable.

Last but not least let me celebrate this Independence day with those all Great People including me who sits on Internet & leaves no stone unturned about making our Country Great but fail to work on ground.

Matter of Indian Pride or Concern....???

It shocked me like anything......

I heard that so many Indian people are not happy with the fact that Ruppee is getting stronger.......... Gosh...... I can't understand it at all......

For me it's like dancing that we are getting stronger....... May be because my Finance department doesn't work at all...... But, seriously yaar if INR is getting stronger against '$' then it should be a matter of pride and not of concern....

And if it's really a matter of concern then How......

Will you plz help me in understanding How & Why .........

The World without Blogging!!!

From almost 2 months I was away from blogging [really???????].
There were few reasons behind being away........... some situational, some self made.....
When I was active last time I noticed that I am giving too much time on bloging & other internet related activities like orkuting...........
So, I decided to keep away myself from blogging & I successfully did it [????].
In last 2 months I logged in maximum 2 times, I never commented on any blog, I never posted any blog and never fully read any blog. So, I think it was my successful attempt of being away from blogging................[?????????].
But, some time I have to think too much about whether I was really away or it's just my thought..........
It's true that I never wrote or never commented but what about the thoughts which used to keep my mind occupied about blogging.
In last 2 months whenever I saw anything writable I used to write a blog in my mind. I don't know how many blog I have written in these 2 months.
Some of the topics which I have written in my mind is like this....
The Blind Man, The Blind Man.
My Friend.
Auto Wala.
Oh!!! Bangalore.
Where Are You
For the sake of Change
Your interest, your career.
Effect of Success.
The Pain of Getting Married.
And of course so many other topics related to Bihar.
And last but not least The World without Blogging.
Not only this I also used to keep thinking about different blog & used to relate them with my day to day activities. I hope you will find numerous here
Seriously, I think rather than inovolving ourselves too much or keeping away completely both are bad............ "Ati Sarvartya Varjayte" . The better way is to plan it very well & blog accordingly. And it totally depend upon the blogger & his work.
So, it was my World with out Blogging, where I kept blogging!!!!!!!! What about you?

Bihar, a Model for Center!!!

Hi Everyone,
As promised earlier here is my another post related to my Bihar.

May one may not agree, but Bihar is now a model for the Centre, for several ‘firsts’ initiated by the Nitish government during its 15-month rule.

Sources in the state HRD department said that the Centre had expressed its desire to emulate the common school system(CCS) method being worked out by the Bihar government to end the divide between the rich and the poor in classrooms across the country.

It was learnt that the secretary, school education, in the union HRD ministry, Champak Chatterjee, not only appreciated the CCS model conceptualised by Nitish, but was also in favour of suggesting it to other states to follow the same. Nitish has already appointed former bureaucrat Muchkund Dubey to work out the modalities for CCS in Bihar.

Furthermore, the Centre was also willing to provide complete financial assistance to achieve the goal of revamping the education system in Bihar by Nitish.

This was not the first time the Centre evinced interest to replicate any Bihar model.

Earlier, the planning commission, too, showed interest to follow the coupon system introduced by Nitish to provide subsidised commodities and kerosene through the PDS for people who are below the poverty line in the state.

The move was aimed at plugging the loopholes in the PDS, as well as to keep a check on the corrupt practices of ration dealers to sell foodgrains meant for PDS in the open market.

The decision to reserve 50 per cent seats for women in the panchayat polls held last year, which aimed at eyeing a gender revolution at the grassroots, has already earned kudos. Bihar was the first state in the country to reserve 50 per cent seats for women in panchayats.

The same model is going to be replicated in the state, in the up and coming urban bodies polls, initiated by Nitish for an ‘empowered’ women’s raj, which would be beyond the considerations of caste, creed and religion.

Lal Muni Devi & Kiran Devi - Bihar

Today I am mentioning stories of two very-very common women of Bihar: Lal Muni & Kiran, The common link between them is that both of them are from near around Patna.

Bihar may be the poorest state till date, but its people are wonderfully talented since ages. Some of the stories of individual successes perplex one raising obvious question, ‘why is then the state so poorly placed on the development index?’

Lets Start with Lal Muni Devi :: For Lal Muni Devi, the challenge was to survive on her farming skills without having any land of her own to plough. So the poor, uneducated woman from Azad Nagar village in Patna district used her dank, thatched house to grow mushrooms. And now she is in a Mexican gallery of top farmers from Asia. A photograph of Lal Muni and the story of her achievement have been put on the website of CIMMYT (http://www.cimmyt.org/english/wps/news/2006/feb/whats_wheat.htm), a well-known Mexican institute engaged in research for improvement of maize and wheat crop.

Lal Muni Devi finds mention as an inspirational farmer among 25 from seven Asian countries.

“I have heard that my photo has been published in America. I want to see it,” said Lal Muni, who wanted to know how she could go to America to see her photo.

Till four years back, Lal Muni used to work for other farmers as a daily labourer. Then instructors from Indian Institute for Agricultural Research (ICAR) brought together 25 women from the village and taught them how to grow mushrooms.

Lal Muni says what made her happy was that she did not need any land to grow mushrooms, a plant she had never even heard of till the ICRA training. It also helped that market was easily available in nearby Patna city.

“I learnt that I could grow mushrooms them in my house and later found that they earned good profit too,” she says with a broad smile. The reason why she got a compliment from a wheat-promotion agency is that balls of wheat husk are used for growing the mushrooms. Packed in plastic bags, the balls hang in rows under her thatched roof, nourishing the oyster mushroom shoots in the humid setting.

For the first two years, ICAR provided free seeds but now the women buy it at Rs 60 a kg.

“One kilogram of seed yields 10-14 kg of mushroom. The winter variety sells at Rs 50-60 per kg while in summer they get Rs 80-120,” said A R Khan, principal scientist at ICAR in Patna.

It takes just three months for the crop to be ready and it can be grown round the year with a little bit of care.

But of the 25 women, at least half quit after ICAR stopped providing free seeds. “I had left growing the mushrooms, but I will now start again and become like Lal Muni,” says Nirmala Devi of the same village.

Many men from the village are also picking up farming after seeing the price mushrooms fetch. Khan said recently a team from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation came to Azad Nagar to meet Lal Muni and other farmers. The foundation run by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has shown interest in agricultural projects in the state that target poor farmers.

Meet Lal Muni Devi

Now the story of Kiran Devi

Kiran is another woman with the manly guts. She came from a poor background. Kiran started with a teashop, but today Kiran is in business of junk selling in Patna. As usual, the profession requires guts to deal with the people with whom she is to deal. The business flourished and now Kiran also owns a number of rickshaws too and get them plied on rental. This business also requires tough handling, but Kiran has plenty of that. Kiran has now found a place in the new Class IV math textbook from National Council of Educational Research and training (NCERT) that is all about math and real life.

Khub Lari Mardaani Wo To Jhaansi Waali Raani Thi

Madhubani Painting - Bihar

Dear All,
Namksar,

I always feel that there are lots of misconception about Bihar & Bihari people among rest of the Indians. And specially among those who never visited Bihar or never lived with any Bihari.

From today onward I would like to share some pictures of Bihar with my dear bloggers

Thanks & Regards

P.S.:: Sorry, if anything wrong. No offence.
___________________________________________________________________

This is an attempt to show you a folk art of Madhubani, Bihar. This painting is called 'Madhubani Painting'.

A refreshingly different folk art Madhubani paintings. Rural Bihari women who never heard of Picasso, make three dimensional imageries using vegetable colors on cow dung treated paper.

Madhubani Paintings are an indigenous art form of a quaint village of Bihar. Here the women of the village maintain a matriarchal dominance over the craft . They paint figures from nature and myth on household and village walls to mark the seasonal festivals,
for special events of the life-cycle, and when marriages are being arranged they prepare intricately designed wedding proposals , and the technique of painting is safely and zealously guarded by the women of this village, for it is to be passed on by a mother to her daughter.

Women of this village have been practicing this art form for centuries but it came to the forefront only in the 1960s, when a drought hit the area and people had to think of an alternative non agricultural source of earning. Selling these traditional paintings on handmade paper was the best alternative. And today they are one of the most celebrated Folk Arts of the world.

Themes of Madhubani Paintings

Most Madhubani Paintings mostly feature nature related themes. Mythological figures also find great prominence in these paintings. Hindu deities like Krishna, Rama, Siva, Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati are the most common subjects of Madhubani Painters.

Apart from deities the women also paint celestial subjects like Sun and Moon. The holy Tulsi plant is also regularly featured in these paintings. These paintings also act as a visual record of court scenes, wedding scenes and social happenings. Intricate floral, animal and bird motifs, and symmetrical geometric designs fill up the gaps. Since this intricate skill is handed down the generations, traditional designs and patterns are widely maintained .

Enjoy the pictures.....
